A comedy romp through ancient Rome. It is ripped off from the Roman comedies of Plautus, written by Phil Porter, especially for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Directed by Pam Townsend.

General Braggadocio is a pompous and lecherous bully who makes life miserable for all around him. His enslaved concubine and a quick-thinking servant join forces in a bid to escape his household and teach him a lesson. With the help of a randy old magistrate, a mischievous monkey and an imaginary visitor from Greece, they play upon the General’s many vices and vanities as they attempt to regain their freedom and return home.

Suitable for ages 12 and over. Contains adult humour and strong language.
